Who am I?
My name is Bassanio Peters, and I am a minority founder who has bootstrapped my startup Assist 2 Develop. We have secured partnerships with major organizations, landed contracts with cutting edge organizations like NASA, all from my garage. Through trial and error, I learned (and continue to learn) what works well and what doesn't.
A more recent part of my journey involves me joining a venture capital firm called Multipass Ventures. Multipass's thesis was to fund minorities and women who had launched technical startups because less than 2% of venture capital goes to minorities. Unfortunately, the fund was not raised by our partners; however, through my conversations with founders, I discovered a few gaps. Education and resources were lacking. Alternatives were lacking.
